In 2019 Digital Assets Custody conducted a survey around digital assets custody in response to the introduction of the term “Kryptowerte” (digital assets, e.g. cryptocurrencies such as Bitcoin, but also security tokens) in the German Banking Act on 1 January 2020.  With Germany now entering a field not previously occupied by larger jurisdictions – the safekeeping of digital/cryptoassets being subject to a permit issued by the German Federal Financial Supervisory Authority (BaFin) – they felt the need to conduct an exploratory study to provide a basis for further studies. As many details still need to be regulated in the new field of safekeeping cryptoassets and various questions still unresolved, contributions such as those made in the survey can benefit regulators aiming to shape a digital assets framework in 2020.

A total of 114 companies were invited to participate. Trustology as an insured crypto hot custodial wallet was invited to contribute and more than pleased to participate on our path to mass adoption.  We invite you to view the high-level summary here.
